Getting Settled In Toronto

Monday was my first visit to the gloPlug office since joining the company. I knew a few of the employees, but I hadn't met most. I was introduced to everybody, and now at least I know everybody I will be working with. Everybody was very nice and the atmosphere felt great. I am really excited about my new job.

Tuesday was my day to get settled in the new area. I found a local Service Canada Centre and get a Social Insurance Number (SIN). The SIN is required for payroll, and is also the number you use for your government provided health benefits. I still have a lot more to do, but at least I have a SIN now.

Today Andrew took me on a walk across downtown. On our way back home, we stopped at St Lawrence Market and browsed all of the vendors there. They have a great selection of seafood and veggies, and there are a lot of organic choices as well. Several vendors have a variety of teas, and I even found my favorite Italian coffee called Illy. It is so great to have so many great places to shop and eat within 30 minutes walking distance from home.
